Taking order requests from your page
The order request form puts a Request an order button on your Kudo page. A customer writes what they want, when they need it and how many, adds up to 3 reference photos if they have them, and the request arrives in your email and on your Orders screen. It is a request, not a payment – nothing is paid or confirmed until you reply.
It is built for custom work that starts as a DM today: cakes, made-to-order pieces, printed or personalised goods, anything where the price depends on the details. You do not need a website for it.
How do I turn on the order request form?
- Go to
Dashboard → Edit page. - Open Step 7: Order requests.
- Switch on Take order requests. The switch saves straight away – there is no Save button to press.
- Press See the form to open it the way a customer will.
The order request form is on every plan, including Free.
If you are setting up a new page and pick Bakery or Handmade as your business type, the setup wizard offers the same switch on the links step, and it starts switched on. You can switch it off there, or later in the editor.
Where does the Request an order button show up?
On your Kudo page, the Request an order button sits right under your links as a full-width button. On pages that still use the older review-first layout, it appears as one more button beside your other links instead.
Switching the order request form off removes the button and closes the form at the same moment. Requests you already received stay on your Orders screen.
How do I put the order form in my Instagram bio?
You have two addresses to choose from:
| Address | What the customer sees first |
|---|---|
getkudo.co/your-business | Your Kudo page, with the Request an order button, your other links and your reviews |
getkudo.co/order/your-business | The order request form itself |
Your Kudo page address is usually the better one for an Instagram bio, because a customer can see your prices, links and reviews before they ask for anything. Use the order form address when you reply to a DM and want to send them straight to the form.
In Instagram, go to Edit profile → Links, add the address, and save. Your Kudo page address is the one you chose when you created the page, with your own name in place of "your-business".
What does a customer fill in on the order form?
The customer does not need an account. The order request form asks:
| Field | Required? |
|---|---|
| Name | Yes |
| Yes – it is where you reply | |
| Phone | No |
| What they would like | Yes, up to 1,000 characters |
| Date they need it | No – any day from today up to two years ahead |
| Quantity or servings | No – plain words, like "24 cupcakes" or "serves 30" |
| Anything else | No |
| Reference photos | No – up to 3 |
A customer can attach up to 3 reference photos, each up to 5 MB, as JPG, PNG or WebP. Links are not accepted in the text boxes; the form asks the customer to describe what they mean or add a photo instead.
The order form appears in English or Turkish, following the customer's own browser language. After sending, the customer sees a screen saying you will reply by email and that this is not a confirmed order yet.
What do I receive when a customer sends a request?
An email. It goes to the email address you sign in to Kudo with, with the subject "New order request from" and the customer's name. It lists their contact details, what they want, the date, the quantity, their notes, and how many photos they attached. The reply address is the customer's, so pressing Reply writes straight back to them.
The photos are not attached to the email. You see them on the Orders screen.
A row on your Orders screen. Go to Dashboard → Orders to see every request, with the photos. New requests are under New. Once you have replied, mark a request as handled and it moves to Handled – that is only for your own bookkeeping.
⚠️ Deleting a request on the Orders screen removes the message, the contact details and the photos for good. There is no undo, and the customer is not told.
How many order requests does the Free plan include?
The Free plan takes 20 order requests per calendar month, counted from the 1st of the month. The Orders screen shows how many you have had so far, for example "7 of 20 requests this month on the Free plan".
When the 20th request of the month arrives:
- The order request form closes until the 1st of next month.
- A customer who opens the form sees that you are not taking online requests right now, and is pointed to the other buttons on your page.
- You get one email that month saying the form is paused.
Every request you already received stays on your Orders screen. Pro and AI Pro have no monthly limit, and upgrading opens the form again straight away.
What the order request form does not do
- The order request form does not take payment. You agree the price with the customer and take payment the way you already do.
- It does not confirm an order. Nothing is booked until you reply to the customer yourself.
- Kudo does not email the customer. They see a "Sent" screen on the form, and the next message they get is your reply.
- Marking a request as handled or deleting it does not notify the customer.
- A request does not become a review, and it does not count toward the reviews on your page.
- You cannot change the questions on the form. The fields are the same for every business.
- Kudo does not delete requests on a timer. They stay until you delete them.
Order requests, appointments and product cards: which one do I need?
- Order request form – for custom work where the customer describes what they want and you reply with a price. On every plan.
- Appointments (Step 6 in the editor) – for booking a time slot, like a haircut or a consultation. On Pro.
- Product cards with a Buy button – for fixed items at a fixed price. The button opens your own checkout, such as an Etsy listing or a payment link.
- Your review form – collects reviews from customers after the work is done. It is separate from the order request form.
Troubleshooting
There is no Request an order button on my page.
Cause: the order request form is switched off.
Fix: go to Dashboard → Edit page, open Step 7: Order requests, and switch on Take order requests.
Customers say the form is closed.
Cause: on the Free plan, your 20 requests for this month have been used.
Fix: the form opens again on the 1st of next month, or straight away on Pro.
I did not get the email.
Cause: it may be in your spam folder, or sent to a different address than the one you expected.
Fix: the email goes to the address you sign in to Kudo with. Every request is also on Dashboard → Orders, whatever happened to the email.
A customer could not add a photo.
Cause: the photo is over 5 MB, is not a JPG, PNG or WebP, or three photos are already attached.
Fix: ask them to send a smaller photo, or a screenshot of it.
A customer's message was refused.
Cause: it contained a link.
Fix: the customer describes it in words or attaches a photo instead.
Frequently asked questions
Is the order request form free?
Yes. It is on every plan. Free takes 20 requests a month; Pro and AI Pro have no limit.
Can customers pay through the order form?
No. The order request form collects a request, not a payment. You reply with a price and take payment the way you already do.
Does the customer get a confirmation email?
No. The customer sees a "Sent" screen that says you will reply by email. Your reply is the confirmation.
Can I send people straight to the form without my page?
Yes. Use getkudo.co/order/your-business, with your own page address in place of "your-business".
Do order requests count toward my reviews?
No. Order requests and reviews are separate, and the review limit on the Free plan does not include them.
