What's included in the Free plan
The Free plan is a real plan, not a trial. It gives you your page with unlimited links and product cards, its web address, the classic collection form and review link, a printable QR code, Google and CSV import, Google reviews that keep themselves up to date, and the widget for your store or website. No credit card, and no expiry date.
5 of your reviews are published. Collecting does not stop at 5: reviews keep arriving and wait in your approval queue, and your page shows the 5 you have published. Upgrading to Pro publishes the rest, in the order you already had them — nothing is deleted and nothing has to be re-imported.
What the Free plan includes
| Included on Free | |
|---|---|
| Your public Kudo page at getkudo.co/your-business | Yes, with unlimited links and product cards |
| Reviews published on your page | 5 |
| Reviews you can collect and keep | Unlimited |
| Classic review form, review link and QR code | Yes |
| Google import | Yes, once: your 5 newest written reviews |
| CSV import, including exports from Judge.me, Loox and other review apps | Yes |
| Website and store widget | Yes — grid, masonry, carousel and compact, plus the star rating badge beside a price |
| "Powered by Kudo" badge | Always shown |
| Photo reviews from customers | No, that is Pro |
On a product page with no reviews of its own yet, the widget shows your store's reviews instead of an empty box, on Free as on every plan.
What the Free plan does not include
This is the whole list:
- The other widget layouts. Free draws your reviews in grid, masonry, carousel or compact, and the star rating badge beside a price. The remaining eight — including the floating corner badge and the photo gallery — are on Pro and AI Pro.
- Removing the "Powered by Kudo" badge. Free carries it on your page and your widgets. Pro takes it off.
- Photo and video reviews. Customers attaching a photo is Pro; attaching a video is AI Pro.
- Review request emails. Asking past customers by hand, and the automatic request after every order on a connected Shopify or Wix store, are on Pro.
- Keeping reviews up to date. Free imports your Google reviews once. Bringing in new Google reviews after that, on a schedule or with the Sync button, and connecting other sources in
Dashboard → Integrations, from Trustpilot to Tripadvisor, are on Pro. - Page analytics, the six page themes and the summary above your reviews. All three are Pro. On Free you are still told how many times your page was viewed; which button was tapped is the Pro part.
- The AI features. The follow-up question form is Pro. Suggested replies, questions and answers on your page, and the written review insights are AI Pro.
Your cover image and the minimal card style are also Pro; Free pages use your logo and colours.
Is there a limit on how many reviews I can collect?
No. Collecting is free and it never stops. Your form stays open, customers keep submitting, and every review is kept in your account. The one exception is Google: on Free, Kudo imports your 5 newest written Google reviews, once, because those are what a Free page can show.
What Free caps is how many are published. Your page shows 5. The rest wait in your approval queue, marked as held back, and go live in the order you had them the moment you upgrade to Pro. Nothing is deleted. On Pro, Kudo also starts bringing in your newer Google reviews on its own.
One exception: a CSV file, and a Google import with automatic publishing switched on, write only as many reviews as your 5 published places have room for. Kudo tells you how many were held back, so you can bring them in after upgrading.
Once your page is showing 5, Kudo emails you each time a customer leaves a new review, so you know one has arrived that your page cannot show yet. The email stops when you upgrade.
Can I use the website widget on the Free plan?
Yes. The widget works on Free, on your own site, with your real reviews, and it does not stop working after a trial period.
What a paid plan buys is the choice: Free draws four layouts plus the star rating badge beside a price, Pro and AI Pro draw all thirteen. If you paste a snippet asking for a layout your plan does not include, the widget draws the grid layout instead of showing an error to your visitors — except the floating corner badge, which draws nothing at all rather than dropping a block of reviews into your page.
On a product page, a product with no reviews of its own shows your store's reviews under a line saying this product has none yet. That works on Free too.
How do I remove "Powered by Kudo" from my widget?
The Pro plan removes it, and AI Pro does too. Free carries it.
The switch is in Dashboard → Widgets, and it only takes effect while your plan includes it. On your page itself, the badge is simply gone once you are on Pro or AI Pro — there is nothing to switch. If a paid plan later ends, the badge comes back on its own, on your page and on your widgets — you do not need to change anything, and nothing else about your widget changes.

What happens to my reviews if I downgrade or cancel?
Your reviews stay. Kudo does not delete reviews when a plan ends, and your page stays published.
What stops are the paid features. A page that drops to Free keeps its reviews and its page, and:
- widgets go back to the four Free layouts and the star rating badge, and start showing the "Powered by Kudo" line again;
- Google and every other connected source stop syncing on their own, and start again by themselves if the plan comes back — you do not reconnect anything;
- customers can no longer attach photos to new reviews, but every photo already on your page stays;
- the summary above your reviews stops appearing;
- the AI review form falls back to the standard form, so your review link and printed QR code keep working.
⚠️ A downgrade does not delete anything, but it does change what visitors see on your public page the moment it takes effect.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. You can create your page, import your reviews and embed the widget without entering payment details.
Is the Free plan time-limited?
No. It does not expire and it does not turn into a trial.
Is there a review limit on the Free plan?
On the Free plan, 5 reviews are published on your page. There is no limit on how many you collect or keep — Pro and AI Pro publish all of them.
Is the review collection form free?
Yes. The standard form, the link and the QR code are on Free. The AI conversational form is the paid version of it.
Can I collect photo reviews on Free?
No. Customers attaching photos is on Pro, and video on AI Pro. On Free the form does not ask for pictures, and photos a page already collected stay on it.
Does the Free plan show ads on my page?
No. Kudo never puts advertising on your page. The only Kudo branding is the small "Powered by Kudo" line on your page and your widgets.
If I upgrade, do I have to re-import my reviews?
No. Upgrading changes what you can do with the reviews you already have; nothing is re-imported and nothing is lost.
