A stranger ordering a birthday cake needs proof
Your photos show that you can bake. They do not show that you deliver on the day, answer messages or get the name spelled right. That is what reviews from other customers are for, and it is why Kudo puts them on the same page as your order link instead of on a Google profile the customer has to go and find.
Ask when the cake is cut, not when it is paid for
The best moment to ask for a review is the day after the party, when the customer has photos and a room full of compliments. A small card in the box with your review QR code, or one message the next morning with the link, does the asking for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can customers pay or check out through Kudo?
No. Kudo never takes payment. Each product card links to wherever you already take orders or payment — a Google Form, Square, Etsy, or a DM — and the money goes straight to you.
I bake from home and have no Google Business Profile. Can I still show reviews?
Yes. You can collect reviews through your own Kudo review link, and add ones customers have already sent you. If you deliver to customers, Google lets you set up a Business Profile as a service-area business with your home address hidden; if you do, you can search for it in Kudo and, if it appears, import those reviews too.
What does it cost?
The page, unlimited links, product cards, the review link and 5 published reviews are free. Pro adds page themes, shows which link gets tapped and removes the "Powered by Kudo" badge.
Can I sell baked goods from home legally?
That depends on your state's cottage food rules, so check them before you sell. Kudo does not decide that part.
