A back office, or a front window

Podium is a platform a growing business runs its customer conversations on. Kudo is the page a customer sees when they tap your bio: your services, a way to reach you, and your Google reviews underneath. You can sign up yourself and it is live the moment you save a name.

What Podium is good at

Running every customer conversation from one inbox, and automating the busy work around it. Podium brings texts, web chat, calls and reviews into one place, sends review invites by text and email after a transaction by connecting to tools like QuickBooks, Shopify, HubSpot and Salesforce, takes payments by text or with its own card readers, and offers an AI employee that answers leads around the clock and books appointments. For a shop with staff, a busy phone and a point of sale, that takes real work off the counter.

Where it leaves you stuck

It is bought through a demo and a sales conversation rather than started on your own tonight. And it is built to sit behind your business: the work happens in an inbox, in your customers' text threads and on the website you already have. A one-person business that mostly needs a page in its bio, with its services and reviews on it, is buying a back office to get it.

Where Podium is still ahead

Automation and money. Podium can send a review invite on its own after every sale by reading your point of sale or CRM, and Kudo does not send automated review requests for a local business: you send the link. Podium takes payments by text and in person, and Kudo never takes payment. It also gives your team one inbox for every text, chat and call, and an AI employee that answers leads while you sleep. If you have staff, a steady flow of transactions and want one system for all of it, Podium is the better choice.

Asking by hand, at the right moment

A barber, a dog groomer or a mobile detailer does not have a point of sale to automate from; they have a phone and the moment the customer says "that looks great". That is when you ask. Kudo gives you a review link to paste into WhatsApp with the message already written, and a QR code for the counter or the back of a card, and everyone gets asked, happy or not.

Where the reviews end up

Collecting reviews is half the job; the other half is being seen with them. On Kudo your Google reviews are imported and kept in sync on the same page as your links, services and prices, so the person who taps your Instagram bio sees them before they decide to book. The page is live the moment you save a name, and the rest can be filled in later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Kudo send review requests automatically?

Not for a local business. You send the request yourself: copy your review link, open the WhatsApp message with the link already in it, or put the QR code where customers pay. If you need invites fired from your point of sale after every transaction, that is what Podium is built for.

Is it free?

Yes, and you can sign up on your own without talking to anyone. The page, unlimited links, service and product cards, a QR code, the review link, Google review import that keeps syncing by itself and 5 published reviews are all free, with a "Powered by Kudo" badge. Pro adds page themes, click analytics and photo reviews, and removes the badge.

Can customers pay through Kudo?

No. A Buy or Book button on a card opens your own checkout or booking link, and the order request form collects what a customer wants, when and how many, with up to 3 reference photos. It is a request you answer, not a paid order.
